Pairr

Safety

Last updated 2026-07-23

Pairr moves people toward meeting in person faster than most apps. That's the point — and it means we owe you more care than an app that keeps you chatting indefinitely.

Here is exactly what we do, and what we can't do.

What we verify

Every profile has a Reality Photo. It is taken inside the app, at the moment of signup, from the front camera. It cannot be uploaded from a photo library — the app requests a single-use code from our server when the camera opens, and a photo without one is refused.

Every Reality Photo is screened. An AI model checks that it's a live photograph of one identifiable adult, and specifically looks for photographs of screens, printed photos, stock images and generated images. Anything uncertain, and anything raising a question about age or content, is reviewed by a person before it goes live.

Be clear about what this proves. It confirms the photograph is a real, current image of a real person. It does not confirm their name, character, relationship status, criminal history, or intentions. We do not run background checks. Verification is one signal. It is not safety.

What we watch for

Reports are triaged the moment they arrive, and severity determines how fast a person looks:

Response
Threats, minors, coercion, stalking Within 2 hours
Sustained harassment, targeted abuse Within 12 hours
Fake profiles, scams, misrepresentation Within 48 hours
Rudeness and bad manners Within a week

Reporting is anonymous. The person is never told who reported them.

For serious reports, the relevant conversation is preserved as evidence — and it survives that person deleting their account. Someone cannot erase what they did by leaving.

What you control

Block anyone, instantly. They can't see you, message you, or find you again. They aren't notified.

Unmatch to end a connection. It closes for both of you.

Report from a profile, from a conversation, or on a specific message. Reporting the message itself gives our moderators the actual words rather than a description written while you're upset — it makes a real difference to how quickly we can act.

Hide your profile in Settings if you want a break without deleting anything.

Before you meet

Meet somewhere public. A café, a bar, a park in daylight. Not their home, not yours, not a car.

Tell someone. Confirmed dates have a share button that sends the time, place and their first name to whoever you choose. Use it.

Get yourself there and back. Don't rely on them for transport. Keep enough charge to call someone.

Trust the feeling. If something is off before you go, don't go. If something is off when you arrive, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation, a reason, or the rest of the evening.

Keep it on Pairr until you're ready. Moving to another app removes your ability to report and our ability to help.

Things worth noticing

Most people here are exactly who they say they are. These patterns are rare, but they're worth recognising:

You can report a profile without being certain. You don't need proof — that's our job.

What we cannot do

We want to be straight about the limits.

If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services. In Australia, call 000.

If you have been assaulted, support is available regardless of whether you report it:

You can tell us too, at safety@pairr-app.com, and we will act on it. But talk to them first — they are better at this than we are.

Something happened

Email safety@pairr-app.com.

Tell us as much as you can. If it's serious, we'll preserve the conversation immediately, act on the account, and help you with anything you need for a police report.

You will be believed. That is where we start.
